Damian Priest continued his feud with Sheamus at WWE Extreme Rules, with the addition of Jeff Hardy as the third competitor in a triple threat match for the WWE United States Championship.
Early on, Sheamus tried to remove Hardy from the equation by drilling him with a stiff knee almost as soon as the match began, but the fan-favorite veteran rallied and reminded everyone why he’s a former WWE Champion.

Hardy threw everything he had at both of his opponents, and he even took both men down with a double Whisper in the Wind at one point. Meanwhile, Priest showcased his impressive athleticism throughout the bout, but his title reign was on the ropes when Hardy set up up for the Swanton Bomb. Thankfully for the champion, Sheamus knocked Hardy down and hit a diving knee after he mocked Hardy’s signature taunt.
Sheamus took control, but Priest dodged Brogue Kick and slammed him off the top rope. Out of nowhere, Swanton hit a Swanton Bomb onto both men. Later in the bout, Sheamus dropped Hardy with a Brogue Kick, and Priest rolled “The Celtic Warrior” up for the win.
