Chris Jericho hoped to defeat Men of the Year (Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page) and silence Dan Lambert at AEW Rampage: Grand Slam. Instead, “Le Champion” lost his tag team match on Friday, and he ended the night battered and bruised, courtesy of Lambert’s American Top Team fighters.
On a special two-hour episode of AEW Rampage, Jericho and Jake Hager faced Men of the Year in a tag team match. The Inner Circle stablemates seemingly had the match won, but Lambert tripped Hager up, which allowed Sky to roll him up for the upset victory.
But Jericho’s night wasn’t over yet. When “Le Champion” and Hager attacked Men of the Year and Lambert after the match, a group of Lambert’s fighters swarmed to the ring. Junior Dos Santos, Austin Vanderford, Paige VanZant and Jorge Masvidal, among others proceeded to beat up Jericho and Hager.

Several fighters held up Jericho, and VanZant drilled him with some body punches. American Top Team ended the night standing tall over the bloodied former world champion.
