The viewership for WWE SmackDown dropped this week , following a surge for the special edition of the show that was held in Madison Square Garden on September 10.
According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, the September 17 episode of the show drew 2.243 million viewers, a noteworthy drop from the 2.383 million who watched the show last week.
Thurston notes that the show scored a 0.58 rating (756,000 viewers) in the 18 to 49 demographic, which is also down from the 0.65 rating (852,000 viewers) SmackDown drew in the same rating with the September 10 episode.
Smackdown ranked #2 in 18-49 on TV overall, behind Big Brother on CBS (0.63) with an unusual Friday night episode.
Rampage ranked #2 among cable originals and #5 on TV overall, according to Showbuzz Daily. On cable it was behind college football on ESPN (0.50).

This week’s episode featured an unexpected tag team match where WWE Champion Big E and Finn Balor faced The Usos. In the main event segment, WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch crashed Bianca Belair’s homecoming celebration.
