The former Bronson Reed says he’s grateful for his time in NXT and says fans will definitely see him wrestling in the future.
Bronson Reed, the former NXT North American Champion, debuted a new podcast where he spoke about his WWE release and what’s next for his career. Now being billed as “Jonah,” the show is called Jonahdrome and it premiered on his own channel with a debut episode titled “Pro wrestling owes you nothing.”
Jonah spoke about the misconception surrounding recent comments made about his WWE release last month, and also said that he’s keeping details under wraps, but he’s in talks about his return to wrestling.
“I’m very thankful to Shawn Michaels, Triple H. They obviously believed in me, I became North American Champion and I did some wonderful things with NXT. I am not bitter at that at all, despite what all you people think on Twitter. I said ‘mismanaged’ and people were raging online, and I was like, ‘Calm down, Jesus Christ.’ People were so angry at me and I don’t think you understand what I’m trying to say, which you will find out next episode,” Jonah explained.
“I will clarify all of that, but I want to thank NXT, and all of the coaches and talent. The talent backstage, I loved being in that locker room with all of the boys, it’s a great locker room. Now, what’s next for Jonah? I am not 100% too sure, but if you want to see me somewhere, like I said, wrestling fans’ voice, people want to hear it,” he said. “Your opinion matters. Go on Twitter, tell companies, ‘Hey, I want Jonah to be signed here. I want Jonah to be signed there.’ I am in talks with people. I cannot tell you what, but I will be wrestling again and you will see me again. But, if you want to see me in a specific place, it’s up to you to tell them.”
Noting that he’s probably going to get some heat for what he is about to say, Jonah said he needed to comment on the NXT “reboot” and explained why he’s not a big fan of the new direction NXT is headed in.
“I am not the biggest fan of the direction that I’ve heard [NXT is] going in, not actively seeking independent wrestlers, only because I am the journeyman wrestler. I have nothing against the great athletes that they have signed and will sign. It’s nothing that they’ve done, it’s the business itself. So, for someone like me, and I’ve just told you the journey that I’ve had and there’s much more to tell, of course I want to end up at the pinnacle of the sport. For a long time, people thought NXT was the ‘be all, end all,’ but I don’t think it is anymore,” he stated. “I thought more and more talent is realizing ‘there’s other places to go,’ ‘there’s other places that my talents are going to be more utilized’ and I just wanted to speak on that direction. I’m not a big fan of it and I probably never will be, and I’m happy to debate with people about it.”
Jonah closed by saying he’s happy to debate that because he loves all of his indie wrestlers and he’s still that “indie kid” and will fight for those talents.
