STAMFORD, Conn., September 8, 2021 – WWE issued the following statement today regarding Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development:
“Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event. The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery.”
Triple H serves as executive producer of NXT, as well as Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy Development and COO for WWE. He also appeared in Las Vegas during SummerSlam weekend to promote the event. He joined The Volume’s Colin Cowherd for a live broadcast to discuss a number of topics, including celebrity involvement with WWE and Roman Reigns’ recent run as Universal Champion.
“To me, Roman is on a different level from anyone. Anyone. In an era where there weren’t people there, he was on a different level from anyone. He has taken it now to another level beyond that. He’s one of those guys that I feel like is changing the business a little bit as he’s moving forward,” he explained, “to where he is pulling people back into a different realm of character work and what that means, and I love it. Maybe I’m biased because it’s more in my wheelhouse of performance, but I do think he’s on a completely different level.”
