It appears a lot of contracts within the black and gold brand of WWE NXT are expiring soon. Earlier this week, it was reported that Adam Cole‘s contract is set to expire SummerSlam weekend, and now it appears former NXT UK Champion Pete Dunne‘s deal could be expiring around the same time.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that Pete Dunne’s WWE contract is set to expire very soon. While he’s been unable to confirm an actual date, Sapp noted that one source told him that Dunne’s deal will expire alongside Adam Cole’s following SummerSlam weekend.
Sapp was told that Dunne’s current contract situation is “similar to that of Adam Cole’s” but doesn’t have further information regarding that at this time. Now that this news is out, we’re sure more details will be revealed regarding Dunne’s WWE status in the coming days.

Pete Dunne was responsible for carrying the NXT UK brand on his back for several years before being brought to the states to join the WWE NXT roster. At 27 years of age, Dunne has a long career ahead of him in professional wrestling, and it would be in WWE’s best interest to get a new deal done with The Bruiserweight to keep him on their roster for years to come.
As of this writing, Dunne doesn’t currently have a match scheduled for NXT TakeOver 36.
