NXT Great American Bash didn’t go as planned for Cameron Grimes, as he will have to reprise the role of Virgil for LA Knight. Grimes lost a very hard-fought battle against The Million Dollar Champion at the Bash after surviving some chicanery from “The Million Dollar Megastar.” Knight’s tricks ultimately made all the difference on Tuesday night.
Knight first tried grabbing a handful of trunks against Grimes to get the victory, but he then resorted to DDT’ing Cameron on the Million Dollar Championship outside the ring. Unaware of the belt’s presence, the referee allowed the match to continue. Grimes did answer the call of the ten count, but he took LA Knight’s inverted stunner, and he was unable to kick out.
Post-match, Knight told his new butler, Grimes to get the cleaning products ready.
