You won’t have to wait long for the next NXT TakeOver event, according to Triple H.
WWE‘s Executive Vice President held a media call ahead of this Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: In Your House pay-per-view event and during the call, the head of NXT told Jon Alba of Spectrum News 13 about the company’s plans for the next TakeOver event following this weekend’s In Your House special.
“So, it’s a little bit of a work in progress as far as where that show lands for the SummerSlam weekend TakeOver,” said Triple H. “We’re in a unique time coming out of the pandemic and getting back on the road and doing live events and SummerSlam going to Vegas in a stadium and hopefully we’ll have a full house, it should be awesome but it’s a unique time, a lot of it is everyone is trying to feel things out.”

Just before the call, several sources broke the news that the next TakeOver event will be on SummerSlam weekend; on The Mat Men Podcast, Andrew Zarian revealed that WWE was planning to hold another NXT TakeOver this summer. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select confirmed the news and revealed that the working plan at the moment is for NXT TakeOver to take place on August 22, the day after this year’s SummerSlam.
Triple H also emphasized that everyone in NXT wants to get back to normal by performing in front of live crowds. He hinted that returning to this routine will be a “process” over the next few months.
“So, it’s a little bit of an eb and flow, right now of where things stand but I can tell you this, for WWE, for our staff, our crew, for all of us behind the scenes but especially for our talent, we cannot wait to get back in front of crowds and full arenas and excited fans,” Triple H explained. “It’s the lifeblood of what we do and never having thought we’d experience it, but having no fans it makes you realize that they’re everything that we do and we can’t wait to get back in front of them and show them what WWE really does again. It’ll be an evolving process as we get into the summer months and into the fall.”
