CM Punk Compares WWE’s Product To A Trashy Movie That’s Written By ‘Creatively Bankrupt Nincompoops’

After the sudden and surprise news that WWE released a handful of notable Superstars on Wednesday, many people came forward to voice their displeasure. One of those that joined in on the criticism was former WWE Champion CM Punk.

Replying to a tweet from Bloody Disgusting’s John Squires, Punk likened the current state of WWE to a trashy movie. He noted how WWE, like some major movies, has a blockbuster budget and a great cast, but its stories are written by “creatively bankrupt nincompoops” who were writing “for an audience of one.” Punk went on to say that things seemed to be written in a language that no one understands these days and called the product “trash.” He then stated that people keep watching simply because “they like movies.”

Unsurprisingly, Punk was highly critical of the company, as he’s had a somewhat long history of sharing his disagreement with the way WWE operates. Since he left the company, he’s been one of a handful of former superstars who have had no issues criticizing the company at any given point.
