Ted DiBiase Starts Petition For WWE To Acknowledge His Title Reign

Does WWE have a price for “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase? That might actually be up to the WWE Universe as the Hall of Famer has launched a petition for the company to acknowledge his short reign as WWE Champion.

Back in February of 1988, on the first WWE: The Main Event special, Andre The Giant defeated Hulk Hogan to capture the WWE Championship for the first time. Andre would then immediately relinquish the title to Ted DiBiase before the title was declared vacant by Jack Tunney and put up in a tournament to crown a new WWE Champion at WrestleMania IV.

Ted DiBiase’s short time as WWE Champion before the title was declared vacant is not acknowledged by WWE. But DiBiase would like to get that changed, and he has started a petition to try and make that happen.

Earlier this week, Ted DiBiase took to social media to announce his petition to the WWE Universe:

“Everyone’s got a price for the #MillionDollarMan, even @TheGiant46. In 1988, Andre helped me win the championship from @HulkHogan. @WWE doesn’t recognize this as an official title reign. With the help of the #WWEUniverse we can #MakeItOfficial,” Dibiase tweeted.

Ted DiBiase has been featured again on WWE television as of late, taking part in a storyline with the black and gold brand of WWE NXT. Over the last couple of weeks, we have seen Cameron Grimes and LA Knight feuding over who should carry on the million-dollar legacy of DiBiase.

Grimes and LA Knight has been officially signed for NXT TakeOver: In Your House on June 13, which will air live on Peacock and the WWE Network internationally.

You can be certain that DiBiase will make his presence known during that match, as rumors have persisted as of late that the iconic Million Dollar Championship could return at some point during this storyline between Grimes and Knight.
