Jerry Lawler comments on WWE’s COVID-19 vaccination policy.
On Friday, Jerry Lawler posted a photo of himself getting the COVID-19 vaccination with a comment that said WWE was telling “everyone” they needed to be fully vaccinated prior to the next pay-per-view in June.
The post (which has since been deleted) drew plenty of attention, and Lawler later clarified his remarks and said the vaccination isn’t actually required by the company. Lawler went on to explain how things are being handled and also revealed that he was not vaccinated prior to this because he’d already had COVID-19 this year and did not feel the vaccination was necessary.
1st let me comment on some of the comments after this tweet of mine. The WWE has the same covid policy as MLB. If you’re fully vaccinated, you’re good to go. If not, you must still wear a mask at the event and be tested before an event.
Some people question why I waited so long to get vaccinated. It’s because I already had covid back around the 1st of the year I had antibodies and didn’t feel the need.
It’s worth noting that this week’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also mentioned some details in regards to WWE’s COVID vaccination requirements, claiming WWE is not requiring vaccinations for corporate office employees.
According to the report, a recent mandatory employee meeting this week confirmed everyone will be asked to return to the WWE offices on July 6, and those that do not get vaccinated will be asked to wear a mask. For the past year or so, WWE employees have been allowed to work from home due to COVID-19 restrictions.
