Bret Hart considers Ric Flair a friend and wants to make sure the two stay that way.
The wrestling legend from Calgary took matters in his own hands after Flair did an impromptu interview with Conrad Thompson which he talked about Hart’s outspokenness on certain matters, pertaining to WWE and even aspects referring to the Nature Boy himself. Bret went on social media Thursday evening to express how those comments were old hat and made note that he reached out to Ric to make sure there wasn’t any rift between the two.
“I know my comments at times can be unpopular or, at the very least, spark debate in the wrestling world, but it’s become apparent to me that someone is saying I did an interview with them recently but using old quotes of mine from way back,” Bret stated on Twitter. “I very, very rarely do wrestling podcasts, and I’m aware of what interviews I have done since the pandemic started. Anyone that is advertising that I did their podcast recently is flat out lying. For the record, I reached out to Ric and we’ve cleared the air with each other.”
Hart then reiterates how much he values Flair’s friendship.
“I consider Ric a friend of mine and, considering I have very few friends left in the business, I want to keep it that way.”
As stated in his Tweets, Bret has been very selective with interviews over the past couple years and some of the comments that Flair talked about (such as one he made regarding Roman Reigns) happened to be from years back.
