Good news for WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg following a health scare last month.
According to PWInsider, NXT producer Brian James, better known as Road Dogg, has returned to his duties backstage at NXT as a producer for the brand. The report states that James was producing virtually for a couple of weeks before returning to the Capitol Wrestling Center during this week’s broadcast of NXT.
The former D-Generation-X member was hospitalized last month following a health scare that was believed to be a heart attack before being released from the hospital on March 31.

On a related note, Triple H said despite being at home, Road Dogg still had a hand in helping put NXT TakeOver: Stand And Deliver together. Triple H and Shawn Michaels took part in the night two TakeOver post-show media call, and prior to opening the call to questions, Triple H wanted to share a status update on Road Dogg after being hospitalized and said he’d been working via headset on the show.
“Before I open it to questions, I want to mention that Brian James, Road Dogg, just is— he has been home the last couple of days. He’s been recovering,” Triple H explained, “but he’s healthy, and he’s good. [He is] recovering at home, doing well.”
“We had him set up, so he was on a headset over the last two days, kinda being involved. And as he gets his strength back and everything’s feeling good,” Triple H noted, “he’ll be back at it and being the ‘Road Dogg’ in no time. So, I just wanted to give a shout-out to him and we greatly miss him here. He will be back soon enough, but he is doing well.”
