Mickie James has been released by WWE.
WWE released multiple Superstars on Thursday, announcing the roster moves with the following statement on the company’s website.
WWE has come to terms on a release of Billie Kay, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, Tucker and Wesley Blake as of today April 15, 2021.
We wish Billie, Mickie, Chelsea, Tucker and Wesley the best in all of their future endeavors.

James’ most recent run with the company began in 2016 when she returned to face off with Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Toronto. She later signed a multi-year deal, and spent most of her time on RAW and SmackDown. James went undrafted in the 2020 Draft; her final match with the company was in the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match, entering at #19 before she was eliminated by Lacey Evans.
Mickie James leaves the company as a former 5-time Women’s Champion and a one-time Divas Champion.
