Dave Bautista certainly has the resume of a WWE Hall Of Famer, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be inducted this year.
WWE quietly removed Bautista’s induction announcement and details from their website, and we now have a possible reason as to why “The Animal” isn’t listed. According to F4WOnline.com, the belief is that Bautista’s omission is due to a schedule conflict. F4W’s Dave Meltzer later commented on the story on Wrestling Observer Radio, claiming that was the reason being floated around but ‘[didn’t] know that to be the case.’
Fightful Select also reported details on Dave Bautista’s induction, claiming he’s still going to eventually be inducted into the Hall Of Fame but WWE wants to do it “when a full crowd can enjoy it.” Bautista’s photo does appear once in the WWE HOF hub, but an error message pops up when fans attempt to access the announcement page.
On a related note, Daniel Bryan was listed as a 2021 inductee on a listing on the WWE Network and Peacock on Saturday. In regards to the listing, it was noted by both outlets that this was simply a mistake and there are no plans for Daniel Bryan to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2021.
Current plans for this year’s ceremony will see both the 2020 and 2021 Hall Of Fame classes inducted in a closed cermony at the WWE ThunderDome. Eric Bischoff will join Molly Holly in the 2021 WWE Hall Of Fame class, while the 2020 class includes JBL, British bulldog, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger, nWo (Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Sean Waltman) and the Bella Twins.
Edge delivered a steel-chair shocker of an ending on Sunday’s WWE Fastlane allowing a vulnerable WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns to slump on top of the challenger, Daniel Bryan for a questionable win. The leader of the ‘Yes Movement’ forced Reigns to tap out to his Yes Lock but it was out of the view of a battered referee and Edge who served as a ringside enforcer. How does this create a new provocative element to the Smackdown road to WrestleMania?
