Tyson Fury Confirms Planned Match In UK Pre-COVID-19 With Drew McIntyre

Tyson Fury had quite the 2020 planned in both the boxing and wrestling ring before COVID-19 knocked the world out.

Fury spoke with “Behind The Gloves” about what his year had lined up and it was very WWE heavy, including a planned match between him and Drew McIntyre that was scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom.

“I was supposed to go to SummerSlam last year and I was supposed to go to WrestleMania last year and then I was also supposed to fight Drew McIntyre in a PPV event in the UK, but none of that happened thanks to COVID. So COVID’s cost me SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, PPV with Drew McIntyre, the [Deontay] Wilder rematch, and the [Anthony] Joshua fight. So thank you COVID [laughs].”

The Gypsy King didn’t state whether he’s interested in grappling up again for WWE but The Gypsy King does have plans to box more than once in 2021.

“I’ll be fighting twice this year. No matter who it is, I’ll fight twice,” he said before later adding his planned month to step back in the boxing ring. “No matter who it is, I want to fight in June. May or June.”
