Daniel Bryan came out to open tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown to talk about his ambitions and how he wanted another shot at the WWE Universal Championship, and a proper one. While Roman Reigns ended up coming out and mocking that, Bryan was granted the chance to secure a title match, which he did.

In a Steel Cage match to close out the night, Bryan was able to defeat Jey Uso to secure himself a WWE Universal Championship match at WWE Fastlane. The match was a brutal one, and although Roman Reigns was watching from ringside to try and scare Uso into performing better, it didn’t help much. Late in the match, Bryan was able to counter a move from Uso and turn it into a Yes Lock, which was finally enough to get Uso to tap, right in front of Reigns.

After the match, Bryan climbed to the top of the steel cage and began getting the digital crowd inside the Thunder Dome to chant “Yes!” along with him. With Reigns watching from below, Bryan continued the chants, and will now look to finally take down Reigns at the next WWE pay-per-view.
