‘NXT EVOLVE’ Pilot Filmed, Gabe Sapolsky Involved

Last year saw the end of EVOLVE as the promotion went on indefinite hiatus and owner Gabe Sapolsky sold the rights to WWE. However, now WWE’s plans for the brand are coming to light.

As reported by Fightful, a pilot was filmed for a show called NXT EVOLVE. It was filmed at a warehouse and reportedly has a more fight-like atmosphere. Sapolsky is said to be heading up this venture, and Jeremy Borash is also heavily involved. A title belt has already been created, so it appears to be moving along.

This move makes a lot of sense to give WWE a true developmental brand as the promotion has already signed plenty of former EVOLVE talent. There are also dozens of recent signees at the Performance Center that aren’t quite television ready just yet as well.
