Kofi Kingston Tells Mustafa Ali To Quit Complaining & ‘Climb The Mountain’

With over a decade in WWE, Kofi Kingston has exactly been where Mustafa Ali is, but the leader of Retribution refuses to see it that way.

Ali was tossed out of the Royal Rumble last night by Kofi’s former New Day partner in Big E, but Kingston hasn’t forgotten some words that Ali has said about the former WWE Champion, who gave comment after the Rumble finished up

“You couldn’t get over the fact that I took your spot in 2019. You’re still talking about this, man. You’re having nightmares and everything,” Kingston said who took exception to Ali distorting his words when he was champ. Ali claimed that Kofi said he’d change the landscape of WWE and believes that Kingston didn’t live up to his “promise.”

“What I said was that I hope that people who are in similar positions of struggle could look to my situation and my story and use it as motivation for them to go out and achieve their dreams. That’s what I said.”

Kofi said that it was Ali who is the one that didn’t deliver on a particular promise.

“You said that you were going to go out and win the Royal Rumble (laughs) and we all know how that worked out! Big E grabbed you by your face and threw your delusional ass over the top rope and eliminated you. That’s what happened man! So all these lies, look, let’s stop telling all these lies, let’s start telling the truth. The truth is is that you want me to suffer as you have suffered but the truth is also that I suffered far longer than you.

“I mean, what? You were on the roster for, what? Two, three years complaining about not getting your due? Try quadrupling that number. Don’t talk to me about suffering. The truth is is that nobody knows that you have suffered more than me. Nobody knows your suffering more than I know your suffering because I’ve been there, Ali.”

Kofi did dole out some advice for Ali if he cared to heed it.

“Let me give you a piece of advice, man: See the obstacles that lie in front of you, see the mountain and climb the mountain cause you can’t complain your way to the top. That’s not the way it works. And quite frankly, all that complaining, is just not – it’s just not a good look, man.”
