Roman Reigns is still your WWE Universal Champion headed into 2021.
A rematch between Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens kicked off the Christmas day episode of WWE SmackDown. While their initial title match at TLC 2020 was a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs bout, this was a steel cage match. While steel cages are typically meant to stop interference from happening, that wasn’t the case here.

Both men showed incredible heart during the match as Reigns was able to kick out of a powerbomb and stunner from Owens. In fact, the challenger was about to win when Jey Uso interfered and handcuffed Owens to the cage so that he was physically unable to get both feet on the floor. This allowed Reigns to recover from a stunner and walk out of the door to reclaim his belt.
Jey @WWEUsos' allegiance to @WWERomanReigns is strong, and the ????????? on @FightOwensFight are even stronger. #SteelCage #SmackDown @HeymanHustle pic.twitter.com/DAW9cfCjjh

After the match, Owens called Reigns a “little b—,” so their feud does not seem to be over.
