We reported last week that WWE was set to launch another NXT brand, this time in India. We now have some additional details on where the show is going to be filmed at the start and who we can expect to see on the show.
The report comes from Sportskeeda, who said that the initial tournament that has already been announced will take place from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. Current travel restrictions prohibit the show to take place in India right now.
The anticipated launch date for the show as of this writing is January 26, the same day that India celebrates ‘Republic Day’. The first event will feature popular Indian talents such as The Singh Brothers, Indus Sher, Jinder Mahal, and Jeet Rama. The belief within WWE is that a full-scale performance center could be up and running in India by 2022 if things settle down with the pandemic. The long term plan for NXT is to branch out even more and eventually create ‘NXT Asia’ for talents in Japan, China, and Singapore.
Stay tuned to Wrestlezone for more updates on the NXT India brand along with results from the show.
