New Japan Pro Wrestling begins two huge tournaments on Sunday. The Best of Super Juniors and the World Tag League will alternate over the course of the next month’s tour. The round robin tournaments will see single blocks of 10 competitors competing for the right to challenge for their division’s title at Wrestle Kingdom.
This year’s Tag League will feature the debut of a new wrestler. Will Ospreay has promised to expand his “Empire” by one, and the new member will debut teaming with Great-O-Khan in this year’s tournament. Also making a huge tournament debut, Yuya Uemura will replaced Suzuki-gun’s Yoshinobu Kanemaru in this year’s Best of Super Juniors tournament. Kanemaru suffered a knee injury, and has been replaced by Uemura, who had been lobbying to be in this year’s tournament.
