Darby Allin Wins TNT Championship, Gets Attacked By Brian Cage

Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes met in the ring during tonight’s AEW Full Gear, with the AEW TNT Championship on the line. In a stunning surprise, Darby Allin was able to walk away with the belt after beating Rhodes, but suffered at the hands of Brian Cage, who ambushed Allin after the match.

Allin came away with the win after he and Rhodes began rolling each other over in various pin attempts. After the win, a clearly emotional Allin was presented the title by Rhodes, but the two were interrupted by Taz as they began to celebrate. Taz told Darby to act like he had been there before, and then told them both to go to the back before Brian Cage and Ricky Starks attacked the two from behind. Cage eventually lifted up Darby’s body, and carried it over to a damaged car while trying to smash his arm in the door. Thankfully for Allin, Will Hobbs came out for the save, stopping things from happening.

For more on how the match ended, check out below:

Cody climbs up top but Darby knocks him off and jumps on him for a sleeper. Cody climbs up top and allows his weight to crash down on Darby. Darby rolls out of the ring. Anderson yells at Darby to stay down. He barely answers the count at nine. Bodyslam by Cody. Another. And another. He gorilla presses Darby. Two count.

Cody takes off his belt and Chioda cajoles Cody to stop. Cody does and Darby jackknikes for a near fall. Darby hits a Last Supper pin, but Cody kicks out. Darby hits a stunner, followed by a Coffin Drop for such a close fall.

Not long after, Cody goes for a pump kick and the two go back and forth at rolling one another over for pin attempts. Darby happens to be the one to get the three count out of it and Cody is beside himself.
