Championship Sit Down
HBK welcomes O’Reilly and Bálor to the ring. HBK asks them if they will shake hands. Bálor and O’Reilly oblige. HBK says O’Reilly is the best-kept secret in NXT. How will Bálor prepare for that? Bálor says he knows who O’Reilly is and how great he is. The business watches Bálor because Bálor is the business. O’Reilly says Bálor is great at stroking his own ego. Bálor doesn’t have a chance. This is O’Reilly’s moment. Not Bálor.
HBK asks O’Reilly if there will be an issue with Cole if O’Reilly wins the title. O’Reilly says they are a family and one hand washes the other. Bálor says he’s going to slap the freckles off of O’Reilly’s face. O’Reilly says it’s bullshit that he is considered the underdog. This Sunday the supposed tag team specialist is going to do it again. Bálor says O’Reilly will have his day eventually. O’Reilly would win this Sunday if the title was on anyone but him (Bálor).
Io Shirai and Damian Priest vs. Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano
Shirai and Priest take off their ring coats on the ramp and run down to the ring. Shirai and Priest attack Gargano and LeRae. After the referee regains order, the bell rings to officially start the match. Priest floors Gargano with a big boot. Priest is all over Gargano. Shirai tags in, so LeRae has to enter the match. LeRae and Shirai trade punches and pin attempts. Flapjack by Shirai. Shirai dropkicks LeRae in the ribs. Gargano gets in the ring and stands in front of LeRae to stop Shirai’s attack.
Priest gets in the ring and kicks Gargano in the head. Gargano falls into the same corner LeRae is laying in. Shirai charges in for a double knee strike. Gargano moves out of the way, so Shirai just crushes LeRae in the corner. LeRae and Gargano both roll out of the ring. Shirai stands on Priest shoulders and dives out of the ring, flattening Gargano and LeRae. After the break, LeRae is working over Shirai. Shirai manages to tag in Priest. Priest tosses Gargano all over the place. Broken arrow by Priest.
Gargano escapes Priest’s Razor’s Edge. Tornado facebuster by Gargano. Shirai tags in and dropkicks Gargano. LeRae comes in and gets put in the crossface. Gargano pulls Shirai to the ropes to break the submission hold she has on his wife. LeRae misses her springboard moonsault. Double underhook backbreaker by Shirai. Shirai goes up for the moonsault. Gargano pushes his wife out of the ring. Shirai moonsaults Gargano. Priest tags in and sets up his finish. LeRae low blows Priest. Gargano blasts Priest with his slingshot DDT for the win.
Winners- Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano
After the match, Shirai gets in Gargano’s face. LeRae backstabbers Shirai. Gargano grabs the North American and Women’s titles form the timekeeper. LeRae and Gargano pose with the titles.
