Rey and Dominik Mysterio earned revenge at WWE Payback when they defeated Seth Rollins and Murphy. But this victory came at a cost. WWE announced on Monday that Rey tore his triceps during the match. He was scheduled to face Rollins on WWE RAW, but Dominik took his place to make it a WWE SummerSlam rematch.

Before the match, Rollins scolded Murphy for costing them their match at WWE Payback. He told Murphy he can’t afford to have Murphy cost him this important opportunity. “So get the hell out of my ring,” said Rollins. He told Murphy to figure out who he wants to be. Murphy left the ring with Rollins still yelling at him.

Dominik attacked Murphy while he walked up the ramp. He then took the fight to Rollins, but the Monday Night Messiah gained the upper hand. Dominik rallied and took Rollins down with a dive off the broadcast table. Rollins regained control of the match and grounded Dominik.

Dominik rallied again and took Rollins down with a hurricanrana into the turnbuckles. A DDT planted Rollins right on his head, and Dominik dove onto Rollins outside the ring. Dominik hit the 619, but Rollins dodged a frog splash. The Monday Night Messiah pinned Dominik with a Curb Stomp to advance to the triple threat match to determine Drew McIntyre’s next challenger. Rollins Stomped Dominik again after the match.
