Greatness transcends sports and no better comparison was painted by what Daniel Bryan said post-WWE Payback, hearkening back to his fanboy days on the Seattle diamond.
The American Dragon saw plenty to love about Rey & Dominik Mysterio’s big tag team win against Buddy Murphy & Seth Rollins yesterday evening and appreciated the father and son alliance the two have going together. Bryan pulled back from his childhood as he remembered the then-young rookie Ken Griffey Jr. playing alongside his father on the Seattle Mariners.
“As a kid, seeing Ken Griffey Jr and Ken Griffey Sr play on the Mariners together warmed my heart and made me a bigger fan of the team. Watching @35_Dominik & @reymysterio team together (and winning!) gives me the same feeling,” Bryan Tweeted.

To keep the pairing up strictly to the squared circle, Rey & Dominik tagging together is very much like the recently passed “Bullet” Bob Armstrong tagging with his son Brad back in Georgia Championship Wrestling. The duo won the NWA Tag Team Titles back in November of 1981 by defeating Mr. Fuji and Mr. Saito in Atlanta. With the Mysterios getting the victory last night, it’s just a matter of time before we’ll be hearing WWE Raw Tag Titles talk in the near future.
