AEW Superstar Chris Jericho has made it a regularity to live-stream with fans on Saturday night’s via his social media channels. In this weekends stream, he went into detail about his thoughts on the WWE ThunderDome and also said he is excited to finally have fans back at AEW.
When asked what he thought of the WWE ThunderDome, Jericho said, “I loved it, I thought the presentation looked great. It’s great that WWE got out of the Performance Center, it was really killing their vibe because it just looks like a warehouse. They could have at least dressed it up a bit or darkened it. The ThunderDome looks cool though.”
Even though Jericho loved the presentation and the arena itself, he was confused about the attempt to virtually bring fans in. Jericho said, “The thing that was confusing to me was the fans behind them on the screens. They weren’t making a lot of noise. It looked cool, but it’s also a bit weird out like something you would see in The Running Man or something you would see on Black Mirror. All of these faces behind you but they’re all on TV screens. Nothing takes the place of real fans.”
This led into Jericho talking about his excitement for AEW to finally have fans returning to the stands. He said, “I’m really excited to have real fans at our show next week. We did it right. We spaced everybody in pods so that if you were with three people, you can buy a pod of four. If you’re with two people, you can buy a Pod of two or six, and you stay in that area throughout the duration of the show. You’re socially distanced from everyone and everyone’s going to be wearing masks. I think people are ready for it. It’s time to at least, give it a try and do it safely.”
