Cody Rhodes may have his toughest challenge yet when he defends his AEW TNT Championship against Scorpio Sky on the 8/12 edition of Dynamite on TNT. Even though they are adversaries, Cody Rhodes clearly holds a lot of respect for Sky as a competitor and is not taking this match lightly.
Speaking with Tony Schiavone on the official AEW YouTube channel, Cody Rhodes admitted that from an athletic standpoint, Scorpio Sky may be unmatched in the promotion and praised the amount of respect that Scorpio receives in the locker room.

“Pure athleticism wise, Scorpio Sky is probably unmatched in AEW and I even got to, on the post-show following Dynamite this week, got to hear JR talk about how it wouldn’t really be an upset [victory] if Sky was to leave TNT Champion. I think that’s how respected he is.”
Scorpio Sky recently cut a promo on AEW Dark about how he was ready to kick the door in and take opportunities rather than sit around waiting for them.
Whoever walks away from the match on Dynamite as the champion will be holding the completed title belt as Cody Rhodes revealed that it would finally be unveiled and its finished form on August 12. Cody became the inaugural champion in May at Double or Nothing but due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, the championship belt wasn’t able to be finished.
WrestleZone will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern.
