All good things must come to an end and Pineapple Pete (Suge D/Sugar Dunkerton) announced yesterday on Twitter that his time as an extra for All Elite Wrestling has come to an end.
A veteran of the independent scene, Suge D began appearing as an extra when Dynamite had to move to a closed set format because of the Coronavirus pandemic. With Chris Jericho on commentary, Suge’s pineapple shirt earned him the moniker of pineapple Pete and he was even given an opportunity to get in the ring with Chris Jericho on an episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT.

Suge would continue as an extra for the company all the way up until the August 11th episode of AEW Dark, where he teamed with Aaron Solow and Corey Hollis in a losing effort to Jurassic Express.
In his tweets, the man who will forever be known as Pineapple Pete expressed gratitude for the opportunity and admitted to those who asked what caused the split that there was never any official agreement and both parties knew that an amicable split was inevitable.
“Nah. I was used in an extraordinary situation. Situation changed,” he’d tweet. “Nothing promised. There had to come a time. We’ve reached that time. Now we tell some new stories. Not saying we can’t open this one back up, just not right now.”
With this newfound momentum, Suge is looking forward to continuing to make a name for himself on independent shows across the country.
