Scott Armstrong and Brian James announced on Twitter on Sunday that their mother, Vida Gail James, passed away. “This morning, our Mother, Vda Gail James, the Matriarch of the James/Armstrong family, went to be with the Lord,” they both wrote in a Tweet.
This morning our Mother, Vida Gail James, the Matriarch of the James/Armstrong family, went to be with the Lord. We are so thankful that our Father was able to be at her side until the very end. At this time we respectfully ask for your thoughts and prayers for our family. ?

Brian James is a WWE Hall of Famer and still works backstage with the company. Armstrong is a former WWE referee and producer, and he was furloughed in April. Both men are a second-generation wrestler, as his father, “Bullet” Bob Armstrong, had a lengthy in-ring career. The Armstrong family produced several other wrestlers, as Brad Armstrong and Steve Armstrong also entered the family business.
