The latest episode of VICELAND’s Dark Side Of The Ring covered the gut-wrenchingly tragic death of Owen Hart at WWF Over The Edge 1999 and it drew a new all-time high for viewership for the documentary series.
According to Showbuzz Daily, the final episode of the second season of the documentary series pulled in 349,000 viewers, up from last week’s 264,000 viewers and the 320,000 viewers averaged for the series premiere about Chris Benoit. In addition, the episode pulled in a 0.18 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic.
WrestleZone spoke to the producer of the series, Evan Husney, while the final touches for the Owen Hart episode were still being applied. Evan promised a different perspective that’s never been offered before, one of Owen’s immediate family, including his children who have never publicly spoken about the incident until now.
“You’re going to learn a lot. I can just say in terms of the perspective that’s going to be shared, from the family, from their point of view, We’re still putting the final touches on the Owen episode now, but it’s really shaping up to be something truly special and I think that is definitely that is going to be something that feels new, in terms of perspective,” he would say.

In the build to the episode’s premiere, Martha Hart did rounds of media interviews, including one interview with CBS Sports where she opened up about the lawsuit she filed against the WWE.
