It’s hard to believe that it has been 27 years ago since Sean Waltman pulled the wrestling upset of all wrestling upsets. Yesterday was indeed that anniversary.
Back in 1993, Sean Waltman was cycling through a cornicopia of monikers before “The Kid” got the unexpected win off a then-heel Razor Ramon to then be chrisened as the 1-2-3 Kid. This was after Waltman lost to both Doink and Mr. Hughes in squash matches in earlier weeks on RAW so the crowd went bezerk when Kid secured the 1-2-3 against one of WWF’s biggest stars. WWE shared the video to celebrate it 27th anniversary and Waltman shared a few comments about the match, stating that it was the “most important moment of his career” as he faced off against one of his best friends in Scott Hall.

Waltman, along with Hall, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan were all scheduled to be inducted this year as a part of the 2020 WWE Hall Of Fame class as the NWO, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony and inductions have been temporarily postponed. This, along with his other three friends, would be Waltman’s second induction and Waltman would be the first ever back-to-back inductee.
