Tonight’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament continued on Friday Night SmackDown, and saw two friends having to take each other on with a chance to continue on in the tournament.
The second match of the tournament saw Daniel Bryan and Drew Gulak take each other on, and even though the two have been friends for some time, they put that aside in the name of competitiveness. Both superstars put on quite a show, displaying some extremely impressive technical wrestling in the match, but it was Bryan who came away with the win by forcing Gulak to tap out after he locked in a heel hook on his protege. Following the win, Bryan claimed his goal was to once again make the Intercontinental Championship the premier title of SmackDown, and have it attributed to the best wrestler in the company, which he believes he is.
