WWE Backstage viewership sets a new 2020 record with CM Punk, Ricky Steamboat, and ice cream.
The May 12th edition of WWE Backstage on FS1 followed the first-ever cable TV airing of 1987’s WrestleMania 3 in its entirety. The legendary Supercard featured “Macho Man” Randy Savage against Ricky Steamboat in an all-time classic for the WWE Intercontinental Championship as well as Hulk Hogan defending the WWE Championship against Andre the Giant. According to Showbuzz Daily, WWE Backstage pulled in 173,000 viewers, setting a new high for the year, and nearly gaining one-hundred thousand more viewers than last week’s episode, which had only 75,000 people tune in.

CM Punk was also back this week and he interviewed Ricky Steamboat, saying that to him, the match he had with Randy Savage at WrestleMania 3 is the perfect match. CM Punk would also try the brand new WWE ice cream sandwiches playing on the fact that 9 years ago, he had lobbied for the return of WWE ice cream bars. To punk, the sandwiches were just okay and he would give them a 4 out of 10 in the spirit of Bret Hart.
