John Cena, the world’s number one Make-A-Wish wish-maker, showed why he is just that over the course of the weekend as he surprised a young, strong fan with an early birthday present.
Alexis Pasore from NBC News Channel 8 out of Tampa writes that Cena, who happens to be a resident of Tampa, paid visit to seven-year-old David Castle in Odessa, FL on Sunday as he’s going through stage four of Wilms tumor, which is a type of childhood cancer in the kidneys. According to David’s mom, Tammy Miller, Castle was elated to see one of his favorite wrestlers show up to his home with title belts and gifts. All of this actually wasn’t a part of the Make-A-Wish program, but was set up through the Pasco County Fire Rescue.
“The little WWE fan was diagnosed with Wilms tumor on Oct. 25, 2019. He was taken to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital after complaining of not feeling well and being very tired for several days. Doctors reported Castle’s illness was already in stage four upon diagnoses. The tumor has already begun to spread to other parts of his body.
“Miller told News Channel 8 Castle has already undergone very painful tests, surgery, and long days and nights at the hospital. He still has many months of radiation and chemotherapy to go.
“The family does have a GoFundMe page set up to help with Castle’s medical expenses.”
