All Elite Wrestling is taking all the right steps to ensure the safety of their performers.
As seen on last night’s AEW Dynamite post show, Jim Ross broke the news and Excalibur confirmed that was the case and it came at the insistence of management.
JR: “I think also, as another safety precaution, we’re going to be getting tested.”
Excalibur: “Yes. There will be on-site point-of-care testing for everybody that enters the building that day. So that was something that was insisted upon by our management team that if we are going to resume these things, we need to keep everybody as safe as possible. And so for me personally, I’m a little bit of a germophobe, so that went a long way to calming my nerves.”
It’s worth noting that they didn’t confirm what they were being tested for, as the tests for COVID-19 are different than just a general temperature check like WWE has been implementing at their Performance Center tapings. All Elite Wrestling is moving back to a live format after taping several weeks of content in Georgia; they will resume hosting closed set shows at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. The state recently classified a number of sports leagues with a national audience, which would include wrestling, as essential businesses and that is allowing them to continue to host shows despite stay-at-home orders for the public.
Next week’s show is set to feature the following matches:
- Kenny Omega & Matt Hardy vs. Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara
- Jon Moxley vs. Frankie Kazarian
- Cody Rhodes vs. Joey Janela

On a related note, Moxley recently spoke with Wrestlezone while promoting his new film Cagefighter and spoke about helping Dynamite in any way he can, noting that AEW is a team and they will “band together and do the absolute best we can in the situation that we’re in.”
“Double Or Nothing is looking to be a huge pay-per-view, it was huge last year too with the thousands of people going nuts in the crowd. This year is looking to be quite the opposite but everybody there is going to work our asses off to present the best pay-per-view we can as we wade through these weird times,” Moxley said, “then once things start getting back to normal we’ll start blowing the roof off of every arena around the country again. With what it looks like now, I’ll probably load the dogs up in the truck and make a trip east, camp out and help as much as I can with Dynamite going forward.”
