The late, great Howard Finkel certainly is not forgotten by his colleagues. Heartwarming memories and stories from all across the wrestling community about the late WWE Hall Of Famer have been coming across social media timelines and two people who felt they owed Finkel a great deal of gratitude happened to be Lilian Garcia and Vickie Guerrero.
Lilian posted a very touching message about Howard on Twitter, stating that when she was brought into WWE she didn’t know it was to replace the announcing legend. This fact, however, did not change Howard’s helpful and kind attitude who Lilian stated helped her greatly in the transition.
My heart is deeply saddened today at the news that Howard Finkel has passed away. When I say he was ONE OF A KIND, I don’t say that lightly.
When I was hired to be the new Ring Announcer at WWE, I didn’t know it was to replace Howard. But instead of Howard being bitter, he extended his and helped me EVERY step of the way! Any question I had, any advice I needed, and any cheering up I longed for, Howard was there!! Throughout the years, I got to know such a kind soul. Such a selfless human being who radiated with a light of pure love and TRULY LOVED this business!! He loved the fans, his job and all the people he worked with! He is the reason I respect the job of being a Ring Announcer so much because he showed me what a true honor having that job is.
Thank you Howard for soooooo many amazing years of hearing your voice radiate throughout stadiums and arenas. Giving these larger than life introductions that I could only try to come close to. But my biggest thanks is for being a true friend and impacting my life in more ways than you will ever know!
Heaven didn’t gain an angel today cause you were already one here among us. I will miss you dearly Howard. I love you!! RIP – Lilian Garcia

Vickie Guerrero was another talent to be impacted by Howard’s kindess as she reveals that it was Finkel who rode back home with Eddie Guerrero after he passed away in 2005:
“I’m sad to hear of the passing of Howard Finkel! He was a gentleman and kind soul! I will always be debted to him for escorting Eddie from Minneapolis to Phoenix after he passed. When he called me….he said…”I don’t want Eddie to be flown home by himself”. RIP love you friend”
