As first reported by Fightful, NXT star Taynara Conti is gone from WWE. The reason is a dispute between the wrestler and the company, with unconfirmed rumors pointing towards a financial dispute. Taynara refused to participate in a battle royale on NXT TV in the middle of January and left. Sources say that her locker at the Performance Center has been cleared out. Her husband, MMA writer Matheus Costa, spoke with Fightful and said that he could only confirm that Conti is “still under contract with WWE.”

The 24-year-old performer had no prior wrestling experience before joining WWE in 2016. She is a martial artist, participating in the Summer 2016 Olympic trials for Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It’s unclear if she’ll ever enter the squared circle again, but her social media has been full of retweets that note her lack of appearances on NXT TV. Taynara last wrestled for NXT on Jan. 12 at a house show event.
