In an exchange on social media with a fan, Cody Rhodes revealed that he recently gave the WWE permission to use his fathers – Dusty Rhodes – name for the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
After initially being mentioned in an effort to see if he still appreciates the WWE, Rhodes took offense to the initial tweet. According to Rhodes, he’s complimentary many times to the WWE on social media, and it was then that he revealed that he ‘just’ gave them the rights for the name for the upcoming tournament. Despite battling with them for ratings, it seems as if Rhodes is still friendly enough with the company to not let things get extremely petty.
