Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt ended in controversy at Sunday’s (October 6, 2019) WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event in Sacramento, California at the Golden 1 Center on the WWE Network.
The Hell in a Cell match for the Universal Title ended once Rollins hit Wyatt in the head with a sledgehammer, which caused the referee to stop the match. This caused quite a backlash with fans.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Bump, Rod Zapata explained why he decided to stop the match. Here is the statement:
“With Bray motionless, and Seth clearly doing whatever it was going to take to win that match…I had to think of the competitor’s safety and at that moment, I did what I thought was best.”
