OVW teaming up with local organization during Breast Cancer Awareness Month
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 1, 2019) – Ohio Valley Wrestling, an affiliate of the Gladiator Sports Network, will turn its ring ropes pink for all of its matches as part of a partnership with Susan G. Komen Kentucky during Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.
“OVW prides itself on giving back to our community,” said Al Snow, CEO of Gladiator Sports Network. “This partnership is just one way we’re helping to make a difference for a wonderful organization like Komen Kentucky and those impacted by breast cancer.”
OVW seeks to raise awareness about breast cancer and Komen Kentucky’s mission to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
“Breast cancer not only affects women,” said Lynda Weeks, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen Kentucky. “Although it may be rare, men can get breast cancer too. It is estimated that among men in the U.S., there will be 500 breast cancer deaths this year, so it’s important to have these partnerships to ensure we’re spreading our message to everyone in our local community.”
Additionally, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, OVW and Gladiator Sports Network will present “Tuesday Night Fightmare,” a special edition of OVW television, which will feature former WWE Superstar, Gangrel. The special broadcast airs live on WBNA-TV from The Bourbon Hall in the heart of downtown Louisville, located at 116 W. Jefferson St. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to support Komen Kentucky’s mission.
Doors open for the event at 6:30 p.m. and TV matches begin at 8 p.m. Tickets purchased in advance start at $10. To buy tickets or learn more about the event, call (833) 477-6786 or visit www.gladiatorsportsnetwork.live.
