205 Live won’t be receiving a new episode tonight as was originally planned. Instead, the WWE Network is going to be airing a repeat of an older episode again. It was reportedly a late decision that was made, and comes during a strange time of flux for the cruiserweight division as it was recently moved from the main roster to NXT. The newly named title will be defended on next week’s episode of NXT.
“I’ve been told by multiple people that a call was made to air a repeat of 205 Live tonight instead of taping a new show after Smackdown in Los Angeles,” reported John Pollock. “They had previously announced two matches for 205 Live and it was described to me as a ‘late call.'”
What this means for the future of the weekly 205 Live show remains unknown. It could either be the end of 205 Live going forward, or just a decision made at the last minute to focus purely on SmackDown since it’s a huge night for the show debuting on FOX.
Wrestlezone has reached out for comment and will update the story as we learn more.
