It appears that WWE could be adding another hour of programming on Friday nights.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE officials have considered adding another hour to the night, which is the same night as airing SmackDown Live on FOX. Currently, the show is scheduled for two hours.
The live SmackDown episode will take up two of the three hours. What WWE decides to add in the third hour is up in the air and there’s word yet on what the third hour will be for.
There is speculation that WWE could use the third hour for the weekly 205 Live show. That’s not confirmed and there’s even been talk of WWE getting rid of the show because some see it as a failed experiment.
Melzer purely speculated that the third hour could be for a one-hour show on FS1. This footage could be used for the weekly FS1 in-studio show scheduled for Tuesdays or strictly for a one-hour program on the WWE Network.
The FS1 studio is to be hosted by Renee Young. With all of the changes that WWE has made to its programming, this means that WWE will be airing RAW for two hours on Monday, NXT for two hours on Wednesday, and SmackDown Live for two hours on Friday.
