Cain Velasquez Discusses Potential Tag Team Match With Daniel Cormier

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez is riding high after making his pro wrestling debut under the AAA banner.

Over the weekend, the UFC star stepped into the ring where he teamed with Cody and Psycho Clown to defeat Taurus, Texano Jr. and Killer Kross in a six-man tag team match.

The match was one of the bigger matches promoted on the card of the biggest Mexican Lucha Libre event of the year, Triplemania XXVII.

With questions as to what’s next for Velasquez in the pro wrestling business continue, the UFC dropped a bit of a teaser. ESPN released this clip of the UFC star talking about the match. This is where Velasquez brought up how invested his good friend, current UFC Heavyweight Champion and training partner at AKA, Daniel Cormier was in seeing the match.

With Cormier being interested in the match and making it publicly known that he’s a big pro wrestling fan, one has to wonder whether fans will see Cormier and Velasquez team up one day.

That question was asked, which Velasquez responded with, “I thought of that already, yes.”
