Tonight’s episode of 205 Live was a big one, as it pits general manager Drake Maverick against Mike Kanellis in an unsanctioned match. If Kanellis won, he would get a shot at the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, and would go one step further to proving just how capable he is at becoming a top fixture in the WWE.

Akira Tozawa & Brian Kendrick defeat the Singh Brothers via pinfall
Tozawa and Kendrick continued to show just how much of a great team they make, taking down the Singh Brothers with near ease. While Samir and Sunil did put up a solid effort, it was a beautiful senton from the top rope by Tozawa that ended things, and solidified his and Kendrick’s team as a legitimate one.
Lince Dorado defeats Ariya Daivari via pinfall
In a bit of a surprise victory, Dorado was able to do away with Daivari after the pair gave it their all in the ring. With both superstars going all out in an attempt for victory, it was Dorado who had the last laugh, landing a back folding press on Daivari for the pin.
Drake Maverick defeats Mike Kanellis via pinfall
Kanellis began this match by blindsiding Maverick prior to the bell even ringing. From the start, it looked like Kanellis was going to walk away with an easy victory, as Maverick looked outclassed in every aspect. However, Maverick showed a level of toughness and fight he doesn’t always seem to have, and was able to keep himself in the match. In the end, Maverick landed an Acid Drop on Kanellis, pinning him and shocking the 205 Live crowd in the process.
