WWE Extreme Rules Staff Picks

The Wrestlezone staff is back to pick the winners of WWE Extreme Rules. It’s an interesting card filled with what should be a few exciting matches!

Check out our WWE Extreme Rules predictions below!

Drew Gulak vs. Tony Nese

  • Tyler Treese: I don’t think WWE has anything really planned for Gulak as champion, but I hope I’m wrong. Pick: Nese
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Gulak
  • Colin Tessier: Gulak won’t lose the title right back to Nese. Instead, he’ll carry 205 Live for a few months. Pick: Gulak
  • John Clark: Pick: Gulak
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Gulak

Aleister Black vs. Cesaro

  • Tyler Treese: If we watched months of boring promos for Black to lose here then I’ll be pissed. Pick: Black
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Black
  • Colin Tessier: Black needs this win and he needs to look strong in the process. That doesn’t mean squashing Cesaro, who deserves better than this. Pick: Black
  • John Clark: There is no way Aleister Black is going to lose this match after all of the hype and promos. Pick: Black
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Black

Braun Strowman vs Bobby Lashley

  • Tyler Treese: I just want this neverending feud to end. Pick: Lashley
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Strowman
  • Colin Tessier: For a number of reasons, Braun Strowman isn’t where he should be right now. It’s time to accept that, for the moment, and move on. Why not give Lashley a win and help him climb the ladder? Pick: Lashley
  • John Clark: Pick: Strowman
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Strowman

The Revival vs. The Usos

  • Tyler Treese: Probably depends if a certain duo re-signed with the company or not. Pick: Usos
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Revival
  • Colin Tessier: It’s hard to come up with a reason for the Usos to dethrone the Revival right now but, assuming the feud continues, the Top Guys could lose the tiles at SummerSlam or Clash of Champions. Pick: Revival
  • John Clark: Pick: Usos
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Revival

Ricochet vs. AJ Styles

  • Tyler Treese: It makes no sense for AJ to turn heel and immediately lose. Maybe he gets disqualified but otherwise I can’t imagine Ricochet winning clean. Pick: Styles
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Styles
  • Colin Tessier: It’d make sense for Styles to win here to continue his momentum; the Club has looked strong since its reformation. But a win would really boost Ricochet’s status. This situation here is like match with the Revival against the Usos; the feud could easily continue, with the loser of this match getting the win and the title at a later date. Pick: Ricochet
  • John Clark: Pick: Ricochet
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Ricochet

Daniel Bryan & Rowan vs. The New Day vs. Heavy Machinery

  • Tyler Treese: I’ll keep saying it because it is true: Champions almost always retain in multi-man matches. Pick: Daniel Bryan & Rowan
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Daniel Bryan & Rowan
  • Colin Tessier: It’s not time yet for Heavy Machinery and, on some level, it’d seem weird for the New Day win, given they lost a match at Stomping Grounds and haven’t looked very strong since. Pick: Daniel Bryan & Rowan
  • John Clark: Pick: The New Day
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Daniel Bryan & Rowan

Kofi Kingston vs. Samoa Joe

  • Tyler Treese: Sorry, Joe. You lose every big opportunity you get and that isn’t changing here. Pick: Kingston
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Kingston
  • Colin Tessier: Both championship matches have the same win probability: 100% in the champion’s favor. Pick: Kingston
  • John Clark: Pick: Kingston
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Samoa Joe

The Undertaker & Roman Reigns vs. Shane McMahon & Drew McIntyre

  • Tyler Treese: I’m guessing Reigns pins Shane in order to leave Undertaker and McIntyre with some unfinished business. Pick: Undertaker & Reigns
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Undertaker & Reigns
  • Colin Tessier: This match is the wild card on the show. It feels like Shane hasn’t gotten pinned in forever so either A.) he’ll take the loss to give Extreme Rules a substantial moment or B.) he’ll get the win to continue his rise to the top, which would lend some credibility to the theory that he’s being geared toward a program with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. McIntyre might get pinned here to protect Shane’s winning streak. But there’s a good chance this match will set up McIntyre vs. Undertaker at SummerSlam. Pick: Undertaker & Reigns
  • John Clark: Pick: Undertaker & Reigns
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: McMahon & McIntyre somehow

Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch vs. Baron Corbin & Lacey Evans

  • Tyler Treese: I really hope I wake up to WWE Universal Champion Baron Corbin tomorrow, but I don’t live in such a beautiful world. Pick: Rollins & Lynch
  • Harry Kettle: Pick: Rollins & Lynch
  • Colin Tessier: When was the last time a main event PPV match had an absolute 100% win probability? It can’t be understated: Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans have no chance whatsoever. Pick: Rollins & Lynch
  • John Clark: Pick: Rollins & Lynch
  • Alex Santa Maria: Pick: Rollins & Lynch
