It’s official. After making a shock to ROH on June 29th, Alex Shelley will be facing the winner of the title bout at Manhatten Mayhem. That main event sees current champion Matt Taven putting his belt on the line against Jay Lethal. Once that match happens on July 20, the Summer Supercard title bout in Toronto on August 9th will be set.

As noted by ROH, Shelley has only recieved two other chances at Ring of Honor’s top prize in his time with the company. He wrestled Austin Aries in 2005 and Bryan Danielson in 2006. He has been a tag team specialist for most of his career, primarily with Chris Sabin as one half of the Motor City Machine Guns.
