After retaining their WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships against Heavy Machinery, Daniel Bryan & Erick Rowan were unable to claim another victory on tonight’s SmackDown Live. After matching up against New Day’s Big E and Xavier Woods, the champions were surprisingly defeated by a very resilient New Day.

While New Day was celebrating their victory, however, things went awry. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn – who had defeated New Day at Stomping Grounds – surprised the duo and attacked them. Just when it looked like New Day was down for, Heavy Machinery also came running out, and Otis & Tucker were able to help the New Day chase both the champions and Owens & Zayn out of the ring. After saving New Day, the entire group was then placed in an Eight-Man tag team match.

From the start of the match, it was clear that Heavy Machinery was in it to win it, and as both New Day and Bryan & Rowan were busy outside of the ring, Kevin Owens watched as Sami Zayn was beaten up in the ring. With Otis and Tucker brutalizing Zayn in the ring, Owens ended up abandoning him, walking up the ramp and backstage. With no one to help Zayn, Heavy Machinery made short work of him, ending the match.
