Rey Mysterio could return to a WWE ring as soon as July 8 if he’s cleared to return from a shoulder injury.
According to a report by PWInsider.com, there was talk backstage at WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view that Rey was looking at a return in early July, with the RAW television taping event in Newark, New Jersey on the 8th being a target date pending medical clearance.
During our recent interview with Mysterio, he was optimistic and also said July was when he was hoping to return to action. Mysterio has been sidelined with a slight shoulder separation and forfeited the United States Championship on June 3 after beating then-champion Samoa Joe at WWE’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view. While he has not return in an in-ring capacity, Mysterio did appear in front of his hometown crowd at last week’s WWE live event in San Diego.
