WWE Superstar Buddy Murphy recently spoke to 1116 SEN to promote WWE’s stop in Melbourne as part of the SmackDown Live tour in October. The last time Murphy competed in Australia, he captured the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in front of 70,000 screaming fans from the company’s first-ever live broadcast from Australia.
It was the highlight of Murphy’s career. Murphy has competed on grand stages such as WrestleMania, but his victory at the WWE Super Show-Down last October was even more special:
As a kid I always watched the WWE, and always dreamt of being a WWE Superstar so to go full circle and be a superstar and be in the WWE and win a championship in my home town of Melbourne – it doesn’t get much bigger than that for me. I’ve wrestled at WrestleMania but winning that Cruiserweight Championship in front of my friends and family, it doesn’t get any bigger than that!
